The rooms at Mozumo have a contemporary Japanese design and are simply stunning. They make me feel like I'm staying in a modern yet traditional Japanese home. I love that the rooms come with a private open-air bath. It's so relaxing to soak in hot spring water while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The bathrooms are top-notch, with separate bathtubs and showers, as well as spring water baths. It's such a luxury to have these amenities right in the room. The room amenities are perfect, including slippers and toilets with an electronic bidet. They truly think of everything to make your stay comfortable. The twin room I stayed in was cozy and had everything I needed, from an electric kettle for hot drinks to a seating area for relaxation. The room also had efficient air conditioning, which was definitely appreciated during my stay. The flat-screen television in the room was a nice touch, keeping me entertained during my downtime. I was able to stay connected with the free in-room WiFi, ensuring I could work or stay in touch with loved ones effortlessly. The partially open bathrooms add a unique touch to the room, making it feel even more spacious and inviting. The soundproofing in the twin room was on point, ensuring a peaceful and restful stay.
Personally, I found the open-air bath a bit small for my liking. However, others may still enjoy it.

My stay at Mozumo was simply awesome. The staff were amazing, especially the woman who delivered the food to my room. She went above and beyond, even following me outside to bid me farewell. The ryokan had a cozy and traditional ambiance, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The room was spacious with a balcony and a genuine Japanese feel. The private onsen in the room was a highlight, easily accommodating two people. The meals, served in-room, were delicious, and the amenities provided were top-notch. It was enjoyable base for a couple of nights. The staff were wonderfully friendly when we arrived. Had good sleep at the a twin room with view on the forest. The location was stunning and wonderful for walking around Hirayu Folk Museum. Furthermore, the area was very quiet.

During my Easter getaway, I enjoyed the breathtaking scenery that surrounded the hotel. The room was cozy and comfortable, and the staff ensured that I had everything I needed during my stay. I particularly liked the delicious meals that were offered at the hotel.
The fact that the hotel was not easily accessible and there were not many nearby amenities. some staff members were not as welcoming and friendly as I had expected.

We stayed at a hotel that had a nice design and in-room hot spring. The staff was friendly and greeted us at the main entrance. The breakfast was tasty, but there wasn't much choice in the small town. The room was clean and comfortable, with a nice forest view from the private hot spring.
The coffee was advertised as free, but we were only given two Nespresso capsules and had to pay 500 yen for an extra one.

I had such a delightful and relaxing experience at this adults-only hotel in Takayama! The highlight of my stay was definitely the private onsen in my room. It was so rejuvenating to soak in the warm waters surrounded by natural beauty. The level of service I received from the attentive staff was exceptional and made me feel truly pampered. The food was another standout aspect of my stay. The multi-course meals were absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. I also appreciated the option to choose both Japanese and Western breakfasts, which added variety to my dining experience. The location of the hotel allowed for peacefulness and tranquility, providing a perfect haven for relaxation. Although there were some minor drawbacks, like the limited nearby activities and the need for cash at most local establishments, overall I highly recommend this hotel for a memorable and rejuvenating stay in Takayama.

Our city break was a pure delight! The hotel's prime location allowed us to explore the area with ease. The complimentary breakfast and Wi-Fi were nice touches that added to the value of our stay. The room was spacious and beautifully designed which made us feel instantly relaxed. We particularly loved the onsen that was very well-maintained, and the hot spring water felt so rejuvenating.
the staff seemed a bit uptight during these processes. However, these minor issues did not detract from our overall experience, and we would definitely recommend this place to other couples and solo travelers looking for a serene and memorable city break.

The shuttle service from the property is very convenient. The public bath with forest views is a great place to relax. I had a fun time taking the bus from JR Takayama Station, what an adventure!
Just loved sitting on the floor for dining, my aging bones handled it like a champ. So comfortable!
